Ötzi the Iceman & the blue truck with a roof tent

Since there is not too much activity on my blog right now while I am in Switzerland and due to the fact that the blue truck and its modification are still the most clicked pictures and blog posts here some historical pictures prior to the pop-up roof modification at ORB in Thun, Switzerland.

During a trip through the Alps of Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Slovenia in 2009

Camping on the parking lot at Ötztalgletscher in Austria, the location got famous since the appearance of a over 3'300 years old fellow, Ötzi the Iceman. My friend "Mops" who was travelling with me on that trip and I did not meet Ötzi, but we set foot on the rapidly shrinking Ötztal Glacier and we camped at the freezing elevation, this was not just pre-pop-up roof, it was also pre-Webasto heating times in the Toyota.

Ötzi the Iceman

Camping in Germany during a trip with my sister Beatrice and her son Nino through German and the South of the Netherlands, this was in fall 2009 during almost two weeks we had about 1 day without rain. Nino and Beatrice were sleeping upstairs while I had taking the downstairs bedroom.

On a Campground in Germany.

Camping with a view in the Alps in Slovenia.

And this is what it looked like when the roof top was closed and ready to hit the road. This picture was also shot during the Alps Tour in Slovenia. Rarely 4x4 use actually. This road was almost as bad as it got. Therefore nothing for mud lovers
